Grapefruit and Hard Boiled Egg Diet

This diet is a classic mono-diet with eggs and citrus fruits combination.

The general scheme: eat 7 hard boiled eggs (sometimes only egg-white) and 7 grapefruits (sometimes oranges) during a day with 1,5 hour intervals.

Dieting 1 week you can lose 7 kg of fat.

ATTENTION: Don`t diet more than 1 week. One week is the maximum duration of this diet! The best solution is to use this egg and grapefruit combination as the replacement of only one food intake during the day.

Do not forget to drink water (2-3 liters during the day). Supplement your diet with sport activities.

Egg is an excellent source of vitamins, essential amino acids, fats and mineral matters. However, it is the yolk that contains the major part of all these useful matters. That is why you should eat some raw yolks a day in order to avoid the deficiency of nutritive material.

As far as cholesterol is concerned, one egg usually contains about 300mg of cholesterol. And our daily norm is 500mg. However, do not forget that our body assimilates only 2% of this necessary material from the external sources. That is why several yolks a day cannot increase your level of cholesterol too much.

Grapefruit – is an excellent low-calorie source of vitamin C as well as any other citrus fruits. Grapefruit is the best fighter against overweight. It contains naringin which improves digestion, activates liver activity and, consequently, and stimulates fat burning. Pectin decreases the level of cholesterol. Grapefruit skin contains vitamin P which is necessary for healthy gingiva and teeth. Grapefruit will never make you constipated. It egests the excessive liquid out of the organism and purges an organism from slags.

Thus, the combination of eggs and grapefruits (oranges, tangerines) is a great natural vitamin-mineral complex with low richness, low calorie content, substantial and palatable.

Consult a doctor before using any diet or following advice!

Kylie, of course, boiled eggs can make your constipated but I am not sure about the combination eggs + grapefruits. Because grapefruits contain a lot of soluble fiber which intensifies the intestinal peristalsis and is a good prophylaxis of constipation.

I have found information that plums or boiled beet once a day will never make your constipated. Another way is to drink a cup of senna tea. It doesn`t contain a lot of calories.

In general the diet is very effective. Moreover, American scientists discovered that protein diet is much more healthier than vegetable diet plans. People, consuming only vegetables, constantly had the feeling of hunger. After they have finished the diet they gained weight again very fast because of the strained stomachs and the constant feeling to eat more. That didn`t happen to those people, who were keeping to a protein diet.

That is true. The eggs are rather substantial and at the same time they are low-caloric.

Umm, we eat the egg AND grapefruit at the same time, right?

  6. Administrator

NO, do NOT eat the egg and grapefruit at the same time. There should be some time interval between egg consumption and grapefruit consumption (about 1,5 hour).

    For exampple:
    9.00 – egg
    10.30 – grapefruit
    12.00 – egg …..

  7. Mak

Oh no o_o; But if we are to consume 7 of each, I’d have to stay awake at night to finish eating the last few eggs and grapefruit >_>; also, are we to eat other foods besides the 7 eggs and grapefruit?

    thank you =)

  8. Administrator

Try to start at 7.00 and eat with 1 hour interval. It is important to eat no more than 7 of each. I think it is ok if you eat 6 instead of 7. You should eat ONLY eggs and grapefruits and drink enough water. Don`t forget that 1 week is the maximum duration of this diet. Some people have egg allergy …. so be sure that you don`t have that type of allergy.
Good luck to you, Mak! We`ll be glad to hear from you!

Hehe, thank you for posting up this diet. I lost 10 pounds or so…i’m ending the diet a day early =x

how long should i wait until i use this diet again?

  11. Kathy

    Congratulations, Mak! Great results!

Of course, finishing your dieting doesn’t mean that you should start eating burgers, donuts, pepsi or other unhealthy stuff. Try to follow simple rules of healthy eating to make your body get used to its new weight and to make your weight stabilized not to gain it again. It is the most important thing for you now. Because the ups and downs of our weight are dangerous for our health. So it is impossible to say exactly. When you feel that your weight is stabilized you can try again. It depends on the general state of your organism. Don’t forget that first of all we should think about our health.
